Nearly Dh700,000 worth of food vouchers have been dished out to hundreds of needy families in Ajman as part of a charity campaign.
The Beit Al Khair Society distributed vouchers valued at Dh684,000 to 400 families this week - a 30 per cent rise on the amount of donations made during the same initiative in 2018.
The Beit Al Khair Society Ramadan campaign will continue throughout the holy month, with various humanitarian efforts to support all sections of society.
The campaign is being held under the motto - "do good, that you may succeed".
“This increase (in food voucher donations) reflects the hard work being done to reflect the value of giving and the efforts to meet the families needs through providing them with the essentials to live a decent life and also to encourage humanitarian work and social solidarity,” said Amira Shaker, director of the Ajman branch of the society.
