Muslims should make most of Ramadan: sermon

Ramadan is a time for doing good deeds, today's Friday sermon says.

ABU DHABI // Ramadan is a golden opportunity to train oneself to do good deeds, stop sins and better manage time, Muslims will be reminded ahead of the holy month in today's sermon.

"We are at the gates of the month of mercy and forgiveness. The believer tries to get closer to Allah by good deeds. And the Prophet Mohammed used to celebrate the arrival of this month and prepare for it," the sermon says.

Moreover, people should learn more about the rules and regulations of observing the fast and set a schedule for praying, reading the Quran, social connections and entertainment, in preparation for the holy month, the sermon says.
