Founded in 1440 by King Henry VI, Eton is perhaps the most celebrated private school in the world and has educated 19 British prime ministers, including the current one, David Cameron. Prince William, second in line to the British throne, also attended. It is for boys only.
Harrow School

Another prestigious private boys' school, Harrow dates back to 1572 and all of its pupils board at the school. It was attended by Bo Guagua, the son of Bo Xilai, the provincial Communist Party chief recently purged in one of the biggest political scandals in China for decades.
University of Oxford

Books have been written in China about how to get into Harvard, which was established in 1636 and, nearly four centuries later, tops global university rankings. Among those attending is the daughter of Xi Jinping, China's vice president. There are about 36 Chinese undergraduates at Harvard.
