ABU DHABI // More than 90,000 new vehicles were registered and 28,000 driving licenses were issued in the emirate during the first half of this year, according to police figures. Lt Col Mohammed al Kitbi, the director of the vehicle and driver's licensing department, said a total of 91,509 new vehicles were registered and 28,068 licences were issued between the beginning of January to the end of June.
"The share of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region of these licenses were 20,925, 4,975 and 2,168 respectively," he explained. A total of 67,722 cars were registered in Abu Dhabi, 21,876 in Al Ain and 1,911 in the Western Region. *WAM
