Dubai’s Police Chief, Major General Khamis Al Mazeina, has revealed the force’s newest luxury security patrol car – the McLaren MP4-12C.
The car comes with a 2020 number plate, in celebration of the emirate's successful Expo 2020 bid.
He said that Dubai Police are also updating their patrol cars to enhance security in major tourist locations such as the Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah Beach Residence.
Early last month, Dubai Police added four more high powered supercars to its fleet of luxury vehicles patrolling the emirate’s roads.
November's additions to the supercar fleet included a second Audi R8, a Mercedes SL 63, a Mercedes G class Brabus, and a Nissan GTR.
Officers already get to drive multi-million dirham cars such as a Mercedes SLS, a Bentley Continental GT, a Lamborghini Aventador, a Bugatti Veyron, an Aston Martin One-77 and a Ferrari FF, all decorated in the force's livery.
Yesterday's addition brings the number of top of the range sports cars run by Dubai Police to 13.
