A man who set fire to a shop was sentenced yesterday to three months in jail.
MA, 28, from Bangladesh, admitted starting the blaze in the construction material outlet on February 19.
A Dubai court heard he caused Dh2,300 worth of damage but he was not ordered to repay the amount.
SH, a Pakistani driver, told the court he saw MA inside the shop breaking glass items with a hammer and that he left the shop after injuring his hand. SH then called the police and civil defence. Court records did not reveal the man's motive for starting the fire.
