Man who raped 13-year-old boy in car is jailed for five years
Offender carried out sex attack as two passengers watched on
A man who raped a 13-year-old boy in his car after befriending him on Facebook has been jailed for five years.
The Pakistani offender had taken the teenager for pizza before driving him to a secluded area and subjecting him to a sexual assault while two passengers looked on.
The victim had met up with the 27-year-old attacker after attending Friday prayers at a mosque in Al Muraqqabat, Dubai Criminal Court heard.
The incident took place on June 24 of last year.
The man beat the boy and stripped him naked before carrying out the rape, the court was told.
“He did it in front of the two other men,” said the boy.
Following the assault, one of the two other men molested the boy before he was dropped home.
“He drove me home and told me not to tell anyone about what happened.”
But the victim told his mother, who then took him to a police station to report the incident.
Both defendants denied the charges against them in court, but the 27-year-old was convicted of rape and his 32-year-old compatriot was found guilty of molesting the boy and given a three-month sentence.
Both men will be deported once they have served their prison terms.
They have two weeks to appeal the sentences.
