A man drunkenly sneaked into his colleague’s bedroom and molested her while she slept, Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The Filipina, 25, told prosecutors that sometime after midnight, on August 28, she felt her pillow move and someone touch her.

"I always sleep with the pillow on top of my head and I felt it being lifted up. I thought it was one of my five other female roommates but, when I felt a hand touching me inappropriately and turned around, I saw his face clearly because of the light coming from the window," she said.
The man ran away when she opened her eyes. She awakened her roommates and they rushed to the surveillance room where security showed her footage of the defendants walking into her room.
"We forgot to lock the door that night, that's how he got in. We saw as he entered the room then turned off the kitchen so we would not be able to recognise him but he forgot about the light in the corridor, which showed his face clearly," said the woman.
She reported the incident to police and told them the defendant's name — who lived on a different floor in the same accommodation building in Al Qusais.
Police found the Pakistani man, 26, hiding in the stairwell.

"He was drunk when we arrested him and said that he entered the room by mistake," said a policeman.
In court on Wednesday, the defendant denied a sex assault charge but admitted to charges of consuming alcohol without a license and trespassing.
The next hearing is scheduled for October 24.
