Man raped teenage girl and forced her into prostitution, court hears
Defendant allegedly lured girl to UAE with promise of a job before making her work in his brothel
A man raped a 13-year-old girl and forced her into prostitution after bringing her into the UAE from Pakistan under the pretense she was his daughter, a court heard.
The Pakistani defendant forged the girl's passport - to make it appear he was her father - in order to secure her a tourist visa and set in motion a human trafficking plot, Dubai Criminal Court was told.
The 49-year-old is alleged to have convinced the girl and her impoverished family that he would ensure she got well-paid employment if he joined her in Dubai.
Prosecutors said he raped the girl while in Pakistan before subjecting her to further sexual attacks when in Dubai, beating her with a broomstick when she tried to resist his advances.
Once in the country, the teenager was allegedly made to work in the defendant's brothel in the emirate.
“I came here as his daughter. Few months after my arrival, he forced me to have sex with nearly 10 customers each day at his brothel in Dubai,” said the girl, now aged 15.
The case came to light after one of the girl's customers, who claimed he had fallen in love with her, fought with the defendant when he tried to rape her and alerted police to her plight.
The customer told prosecutors that he asked her to marry him and tried to get her out of the brothel.
“During September (of last year), a man called us reporting a rape incident,” a policeman said.
“When we went to the location he provided, we discovered it was a brothel and the teen had been forced to prostitute herself there.”
Both the 49-year-old defendant and the customer, 25, from Pakistani, were arrested by police and charged with rape.
The 25-year-old told prosecutors he had consexual sex with the girl, however, having sex with a minor is considered rape under UAE law.
Two other women, both Pakistani and aged 23, were arrested at the brothel for prostituting themselves and admitted the charge in court.
The 49-year-old is charged with human trafficking, rape and running a brothel.
He denied charges in court.
A date for the next hearing was not set.
