A man's ex-wife broke into his house and changed the locks to prevent him from entering, a court heard yesterday.
The woman, SA, told Abu Dhabi Appeals Court she was still in her "idda" - a period of three months and 10 days following a divorce in which a woman should stay in her former husband's house to make sure she is not pregnant and that reconciliation is not possible.
She said Sharia required her to stay in the house in case her husband decided to reconcile with her for the sake of their child.
A verdict is expected on July 29.
