DUBAI // A 59-year-old man has been jailed for three months and fined Dh21,000 for biting part of a bus driver’s ear off in a family dispute.

Pakistani driver F K, 30, had told police that he went to defend his younger brother when he was attacked with a stick and then bitten on the ear by A K.

He said: “I was at home on February 19 this year when my little brother, H K, came and told me that the son of the defendant attacked and threatened to kill him if he ever comes to Pakistan.

F K then went with his brother to speak with the defendant and his son. “Before I could say anything, the defendant tried to assault me with a wooden stick, then he grabbed me by the neck and bit me in the ear,” said the victim.

Despite A K denying the charges, claiming he did not know F K, he was found guilty and jailed.
