Police saved two men whose car had plunged into water, officials say.
Man injured as car plunges into RAK creek
RAS AL KHAIMAH // Another car has plunged into Ras Al Khaimah Creek, highlighting residents' safety concerns.
Two Moroccan men, Mohammed Al Ansari and Ibrahim Buzanit, had driven from Abu Dhabi to RAK on Tuesday, an RAK police spokesman said.
"They had lost their way to the hotel and as they turned to return to where they came from, their car ran off the road and plunged about two metres deep into the water," he said.
Adel Al Zaabi, an Emirati police officer with diving experience, saw the accident and rushed to the men's aid.
Police rescue teams arrived soon after and helped Mr Al Zaabi pull the men out.
One had suffered minor injuries.
Three other cars plunged into the same creek last year. One of the accidents resulted in the deaths of four people.
Residents in RAK said the roads around the creek were very dangerous because they were not fenced off, despite several sharp turns.
They also complained that there were no signs warning about the creek.
