Man acquitted of sexually assaulting employee

The man denied the charges in court and said that he had been framed following a labour dispute with the woman.

A medical centre owner will walk free after he was acquitted of sexually assaulting a female employee.

The Indian man, 58, appeared in Dubai Criminal Court last March after he was charged with sexual assault and breaching the woman’s modesty by praising her beauty and being flirtatious.

The plaintiff, an Indian woman, 33, said that he had lured her into his office, touched her and tried to kiss her in August last year.
The man denied the charges in court and said that he had been framed following a labour dispute with the woman.
“After she filed this malicious case, she approached me and asked me to pay her in return for dropping it,” said the man, who presented evidence of the labour dispute.
The woman did not report the alleged incident until March this year.

She told the court that in another alleged incident in December, she arrived to work wearing a top with long sleeves and the manager pulled the sleeves up to her shoulders.

“I just could not tolerate the immoral treatment and resigned on the spot,” she said.

Dubai Criminal Court acquitted the man of all charges and this week the appeal court upheld the verdict.
