A man accused of carrying out a car park sex attack in Dubai has been cleared in court.
The Bangladeshi man was arrested ten minutes after a woman reported being assaulted and robbed while walking in a car park in Al Nahda on March 7.
The 39-year-old was taken into custody and spent time in detention on suspicion of the crimes
"It was night, around 10pm I guess, when I was taken by surprise as a person hugged me from behind, pressed on my breast then stole Dh500 from my pocket and ran away," the victim said in records.
A police patrol was dispatched to the scene behind Al Reem tower and spoke to the woman ,whose age and nationality were not disclosed in court records.
In court last month, the man denied charges of theft and sex assault.
He was acquitted at Dubai Criminal Court.
