A major crash on the main highway heading in to Abu Dhabi, near Sheikh Zayed Bridge, has caused severe congestion in the area.

Eyewitnesses said there was a multi-vehicle pileup near the entrance to Abu Dhabi Golf Club, on Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan St (E10) causing the tailbacks.

Google Maps showed traffic moving very slow or at a standstill on the highway from Dubai to Abu Dhabi, and the Abu Dhabi - Al Ain Road.
