Farmer who raped teenage boy returning from prayer is sentenced to life in prison.

DUBAI // A farmer who abducted a 14-year-old boy returning from prayer and raped him at knifepoint has been sentenced to life in prison.

The boy was leaving a mosque in Rashidiya after Al Asr prayer on February 25 this year when the farmer HM, 37, from Bangladesh, approached and offered to show him some toys he had at his nearby home.

“He asked me to accompany him to see the toys but I told him I didn’t want to,” said the boy. The farmer then abducted him and took him to a room where he threatened him with a kitchen knife before raping him twice.

Afterwards, when the farmer went to wash the boy managed to escape and run home, telling his parents what happened.

Forensic tests found traces of the farmer’s DNA on the boy.

The Criminal Court found the farmer guilty of kidnapping and raping a minor.

It ordered him to be deported after completing his jail term.
