Environment Ministry told to 'draft necessary laws' to put an end to the practice.
Law to ban ownership of wild animals being drafted
A meeting of the Ministerial Council for Services covered a number of topics including the possession of wild animals and ways to monitor the rising prices of essential commodities yesterday.
The council also discussed possible ways to reduce water and electricity consumption. The Ministry of Environment has been ordered to "draft necessary laws to prevent" the practice of owning wild animals and predators of pets.
Recommendations submitted by the ministry to help lower living costs for people with limited income were also discussed at the meeting.
