Ajman Police have issued a warning to residents not to take part in "unapproved" UAE National Day celebrations, and to ensure camels and horses are kept off the road during the festivities.

The force's general command took to Twitter to issue a directive regarding prohibited activities on the 47th National Day on December 2.

Residents have been urged not to organise unlicensed marches, stop on main roads or bus stops, or use amplified sound systems in their vehicles.

The online notice said members of the public could not use horses or camels on public roads during the public holiday.

Motorists are also barred from installing flagpoles on the back of vehicles which obstruct traffic, change the colour of their cars, blur the plate number, add excess tinting to their windows or carry more passengers than the car can accommodate.

UAE residents have been given a four-day weekend in celebration of the country's National Day.

The UAE cabinet announced residents will be given December 2 and 3 as a public holiday for government and private sectors.
