Illegal money transfers to Pakistan decreasing, says UAE ambassador
The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi has acknowledged that there is a trade in the illegal transfer of money from the UAE to Pakistan.
It said some expatriates are using illegal agents to transfer their remittances home, though the situation has improved recently due to Pakistani government initiatives to benefit remitters.
Ambassador Jamil Ahmed Khan said such matters have not been reported recently to police, indicating there must be an improvement in the situation.
He added that the annual increase in remittances also demonstrates that the problem is decreasing.
