The life of Sheikh Zayed in a 100 minutes and 100 films is to be told in a new series to be released by the National Archives.

The short films will be uploaded onto a YouTube channel and social media as part of the Centennial Initiative organised by the National Archives as their contribution to the Year of Zayed.

Also to be released are 100 education games for children that can be downloaded free, and which will highlight the achievements of the Founding Father of the UAE in nation building.

On the same theme, there will be a series of 100 postcards and 100 photograph exhibitions over the coming year.

The National Archives has also announced Zayed in 100 Tales, an initiative with the Ministry of Education for the Student Historians Club  with winners honored at the Abu Dhabi Book Fair.

Winning research papers will be published, along with a collection of 100 quotes from Sheikh Zayed and 100 documents about the founding leader to be published on social media.

The National Archives says the Centennial Initiative will follow the four themes of the Year of Zayed, including respect, wisdom, building people and sustainability.

Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Alraisi, Director General of the National Archives, said: “No matter how big the initiatives that shed light on the unique personality of Sheikh Zayed and his endless giving may be, and no matter how numerous its related projects are, they will be too little for such a great leader who unified our people and founded a nation on a durable basis.

“He worked hard on building the people and honing their skills, because he firmly believed in the importance of human capital in the development process as well as in safeguarding the achievements of the homeland and its renaissance.”
