Jameel Arts Centre: Dubai's contemporary arts museum - in pictures
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was among those given a tour of the exhibition spaces and centre of Jameel Arts Centre
VIPs have been treated to a sneak preview of Dubai's first contemporary art institution ahead of its launch on Sunday.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, was among those given a tour of the exhibition spaces and centre of Jameel Arts Centre on Thursday evening.
The centre, which sits on the banks of the Creek in the new Jaddaf area, will open to the public on Sunday.
The exhibition area sprawls over 10,000 square metres - bigger than a football pitch.
The arts centre is the first major project in Dubai by Art Jameel, a Saudi art and culture organisation founded in 2004 by the Jameel family, who made their fortune in car dealerships in the Kingdom.
