Sharjah ruler decrees better health care for Emiratis living on Abu Musa
Emiratis living on Abu Musa island will soon benefit from the same health coverage that is applied in the emirate of Sharjah, following a decree from Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the emirate's ruler.
Abdullah Ali Al Mahyan, the chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) and executive director of the Sharjah Healthcare City, said the instruction will be executed "as soon as possible", according to The National's Arabic-language sister paper, Al Ittihad.
Various coverage "categories" for Emirati government workers will also be streamlined into one, Mr Al Mahyan said, noting that the SHA will announce the new plan as soon as the proper procedures are put in place.
