SHARJAH// Sharjah Police seized large quantities of expired hormone pills and steriod injections from an Indian man on Thursday.

Sharjah Police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was tipped off that a man had been changing the expiry dates on the drugs’ boxes and then selling them illegally.

Colonel Jehad Abdulla Sahoh, the director of Sharjah’s CID, said he formed a investigation team to collect evidence and verify the tip-off.

Upon his arrest, Panikavitel KN was found with large quantities of the expired hormone drug in his possession. The name of the drug has not been revealed.

KN confessed to the police officers and admitted that he also had other large quantities of drugs in his home in the Dubai.

Under coordination with Dubai Police, officers raided his home and found 35,926 boxes of hormones and 255 expired vials for injections for steriods.

Col Jehad said the expired pills had dangerous health impacts, adding that young people were taking them to build their muscles without being aware of the dangers.

He urged people to report any similar kinds of illegal activities to police.
