ABU DHABI // Emiratis and expatriates across Abu Dhabi can get free flu vaccinations by visiting primary healthcare centres run by the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company, Seha.

The initiative is in line with efforts by the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi, Haad, to reduce the spread of infectious diseases among the community.

Haad explained that the vaccination is available for all, with priority given to groups at high risk including the elderly, those with chronic diseases, pregnant women and children under five, as well as people working in healthcare.

“The authority is stepping up its efforts to highlight the seasonal flu vaccine, which is one of the best ways to prevent the flu and its complications and reduce the spread of infection in the community,” said Dr Farida Al Hosani, Manager of Communicable Disease at Haad.

Haad has urged citizens and residents to take the vaccine before winter begins, reported Wam, the state news agency.
