DUBAI // The fifth Pink Polo Championship will be held at the weekend to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage women to go for early detection.
The free event will be held at the Ghantoot Horse Race and Polo Club.
“November 7 will be a day of important humanitarian and social proportions,” said Saeed bin Houfan Al Mansouri, chairman of the club. “This event is part of the UAE’s keenness to create awareness about breast cancer to help in its treatment.”
The Abu Dhabi Health Authority said the event was important because at least 1.1 million people are diagnosed with breast cancer every year worldwide.
