The Gulf Committee of the GCC health ministers council has agreed to standardise medicine prices starting this July, Amin Al Amiri, the assistant undersecretary for Medical Practice and Licensing at the Ministry of Health, said.
The decision was made during the committee's ninth meeting, held in Dubai, and will affect local, regional and global manufacturing companies.
It will take into account the circumstances of each state and its economic progress, particularly in the health sector, Dr Al Amiri said.
Companies will have 60 days to comply.
