Dubai's ambulance service is out to save the environment as well as lives - after rolling out its first eco-friendly electric motorcycle.

Dubai Corporation of Ambulance Services has unveiled the Zero DS, which produces no heat, vibration or fumes.

The ambulance service said the emergency vehicle will be used for rapid intervention and immediate response situations.

The newest addition to the emergency services' fleet will initially be stationed in Zabeel, a post by the ambulance service on its Instagram account said.

“The launch of the electric rapid intervention unit is inline with the company's ongoing efforts to adopt new technologies to enhance its services and to implement sustainable development principles,” the post said.
