The initiative aims to raise public awareness about techniques that can be life-saving when applied within the first 10 minutes of an accident.

"The programme includes lectures and practical trainings for housewives on how to deal with accidents and ailments involving children at home," said Maj Butei Al Mazrouei, head of the ambulance section at the Abu Dhabi Police's emergency and safety department.

"These include minor burns, injuries, smoke inhalation, soaring body temperature, instances of swallowing hard objects, bleeding and bone fractures, in addition to CPR for all ages."
