Dubai Deputy Ruler and UAE Minister of Finance donates to US clinic following successful surgery.
Hamdan bin Rashid donates US$5m to Cleveland Clinic
Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and UAE Minister of Finance, has donated US$5 million to the Cleveland Clinic, based in Ohio.
The donation will be used to establish a chair in cardiology research and for studies benefiting Professor Joe Sabik, who has previously performed a successful surgery on Sheikh Hamdan, according to the UAE state news agency, Wam.
Under the arrangement, Emirati doctors will also be sent to the main Cleveland Clinic in the US for training.
A main hall in the hospital will also be named after Sheikh Hamdan.
