Graphic: Traffic sensors on Abu Dhabi roads

The new system is designed to respond to the traffic flow on Abu Dhabi’s 125 intersections, using about 20 sensors at each intersection to monitor and report traffic volumes, as opposed to the current traffic signals that work on fixed times and are not suitable for sudden traffic congestion due to accidents or change to the traffic situation.
