The UAE's leaders sent notes of congratulations as Bahrain prepares to celebrate its national day this week.
The country will mark 47 years on Sunday since its independence from the British in 1971.
Bahrain typically celebrates the occasion over two days, Sunday and Monday this year, though there are fireworks and special events throughout the month.
The President, Sheikh Khalifa, sent a message of congratulations to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain on Saturday. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai also sent messages to the king.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, wrote on Twitter that the UAE joined Bahrain in celebrating the day "with great happiness and pride".

"Our congratulation to the kingdom of Bahrain and my brother King Hamad bin Isa and his brotherly people on the occasion of the 47th national day of the country of authenticity and ancient history," Sheikh Mohamed wrote.
"With great happiness and pride, we share with you your national joy, may god protect your country and its people and perpetuate its joys, security and stability."
