President Sheikh Khalifa has congratulated the rulers of all Arab and Islamic countries ahead of Eid Al Adha.

He was joined in his Eid greetings by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and who also prayed for heath, progress and prosperity for those countries.

"The pilgrims stand on Arafah [mountain] today, and the hearts of all Muslims from all over the world unite to witness our historical, cultural and religious unity," he said, adding that the Eid celebrations on Tuesday would emphasise that unity. He then prayed that God bless the UAE and all Arab and Muslim people.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also tweeted a message to Sheikh Khalifa, the rulers of each emirate and the people of the UAE, wishing them well ahead of one of the most important holidays of the Islamic calendar.

He prayed for God to bestow blessings upon Sheikh Khalifa and to bring him happiness and prosperity.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed also congratulated the UAE Armed Forces and paid tribute to the soldiers who died in the line of duty.

"We ask the Almighty to protect them [the Armed Forces], pave the way for their victory and to have mercy on our martyrs, the righteous who represent the most magnificent images of sacrifice and patriotism," he said.

Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah; Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, and Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid, Ruler of Ajman, also congratulated Sheikh Khalifa and the rulers of each emirate for Eid. They sent similar messages to the rulers of Arab and Muslim countries, wishing them, and their people, good health, progress and prosperity.

Eid greetings were also conveyed by Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed, the President’s Representative.
