Smart Government staff in Dubai come up with 500 bright ideas

Hundreds of creative ideas were collected from the staff of Dubai's Smart Government during a brainstorming session of 'Smart Ideas Day'.

DUBAI// A brainstorming session for Dubai’s smart government employees has resulted in more than 500 suggestions.

Dubai Smart Government’s (DSG) “Smart Ideas Day” was held to formulate ideas that would improve the quality of the service to customers.

The meeting was held in the presence of Ahmad bin Humaidan, director general of DSG as well as other senior officials, department directors and managers.

“The brainstorm session contributed in boosting dialogue and exchange of ideas,” said Mr bin Humaidan.

“This will enable us to achieve creative solutions to address key challenges while also promoting development across all levels – realising the vision of positioning the UAE amongst the most developed countries of the world.”

Mr bin Humaidan told the meeting that it was vital that the UAE developed its innovation and creativity.

The UAE has gone through numerous stages in order to achieve its current position among the leading countries of the world, he said.

Much of this was down to the country’s visionary leadership, determination and willingness of Emiratis to adopt new creative ideas, he added.

The audience was also shown a video on the “Dubai Government: Towards 2021” initiative, which was launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai and chairman of the Executive Council.

“We were able to collect hundreds of suggestions and creative ideas from our staff during this brainstorming session,” said Mr bin Humaidan.

The suggestions will be assessed and the best 50 ideas will then be implemented.

A session for the public will be held soon followed by one for Dubai Government’s strategic partners.
