Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received Alexander Lukashenko, president of the Republic of Belarus, at Emirates Palace on Sunday.
After welcoming president Lukashenko, the two discussed relations between the UAE and Belarus, and the means of supporting and developing those to achieve their common interests.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and Lukashenko reviewed areas of bilateral cooperation between their countries, with a focus on economic, investment and trade relations, as well as opportunities for further developing bilateral ties.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE, under the leadership of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, is always looking to strengthen its relations with other countries.
He went on to say that the growth and development of UAE-Belarus relations reflect the desire of the leaders of both countries to push forward and strengthen the bonds of friendship between them.
The president of Belarus, in turn, expressed his delight at visiting the UAE and meeting the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince. He expressed his country's keenness to bolster economic and investment cooperation with the UAE and learn from its development and urban experience.
