Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid promotes Dubai Police chief

Police chief is now Lt Gen Abdullah Al Marri for helping to make Dubai one of the world's safest cities

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the UAE Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, has promoted Dubai Police chief Abdullah Al Marri.

Mr Al Marri has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant general for the role he has played in making Dubai one of the safest cities in the world.

His previous rank was major general.

Lt Gen Al Marri expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohammed for the trust placed in him and his continuous support.

He said the police officials are proud to serve the nation.

Dubai is one of the safest city in the world according to Numbeo, a crowd-sourced global data website.

The emirate was ranked sixth on the 2019 mid-year index out of 330 cities across the world.
