Billions of dirhams are being invested into improving infrastructure and building housing complexes in the Northern Emirates.
On Tuesday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced a series of projects under way in Fujairah and Sharjah, as he continued his tour of the Northern Emirates that began last week.

Sheikh Mohammed approved Dh1 billion for infrastructure projects in Fujairah and a residential complex, at a cost of Dh400 million, in Khor Fakkan, a coastal town in Sharjah.
The projects are part of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development’s 2017-2021 five-year plan for the eastern coast.
Sheikh Mohammed also approved plans for building schools, healthcare facilities, internal roads and community buildings.
“There is vast development potential in the UAE's eastern region and the federal government will be supportive of accelerated development across all regions of the country,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
"Healthcare and education projects are vital to improving the quality of life of our communities, and we strive to provide the best facilities to our citizens.
"Our development efforts will be the same across the country, because the vision is the same and the land is the same," he said.
During his tour of the emirates, Sheikh Mohammed visited a Dh50m court project in Khor Fakkan, that spans 16,500 square metres. He also reviewed the Dh200m renovation of Hamad bin Abdullah Road in Fujairah, due for completion in 2020.
He was shown the progress made on Maliha Road, which is set to be completed in December.
Sheikh Mohammed also visited other federal road projects, that will link Sharjah, Al Dhaid and Masafi, as well as a number of education developments that include building schools.
Accompanied by Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future, Sheikh Mohammed visited a number of healthcare developments in Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, as well as the site for a new Fujairah Police headquarters, a civil defence centre and facilities for courts and prosecution in Dibba.
Sheikh Mohammed began his tour of the Northern Emirates last week, visiting Ajman and Umm Al Quwain.
As he reviewed development projects, he said Dh11 billion would be spent on road and infrastructure improvements in the Northern Emirates.
He visited construction sites for residential complexes in Ajman and Umm Al Quwain and announced the restoration of Al Ittihad Street, the oldest arterial road linking the emirates, at an estimated cost of Dh1bn, in a bid to improve traffic flow.
