Sheikh Mohamed meets team from Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi commends group for work in supporting people with special needs

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Monday met a delegation from the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the team at a Sea Palace barza and thanked them for their work in supporting and empowering people of determination to become integrated in society.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary General of higher organisation, said hosting the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi helped to rehabilitate people with disabilities, of whom 120 were hired by public and private companies under his agency's supervision.

The organisation is an umbrella group for all humanitarian bodies, social services and institutions who provide services or work towards improving conditions for people with disabilities.

It runs centres and clubs that provide rehabilitation, education, training and counselling for people with disabilities to ensure they are included in society.

On Monday, Sheikh Mohamed commended the group for their work and service to their country.

He said the UAE leadership aimed to provide the highest standard of services and programmes for people with special needs.
