Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as offered warm congratulations to Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, for completing 50 years of service to his country.
Sheikh Mohammed recently notched up a half century of helping to shape the success of the UAE government and its people.
Sheikh Mohammed began his leadership journey on November 1, 1968, when he was appointed head of Dubai Police and Public Security.

Three years later, he rose to the ranks of Minister of Defence, a position he retains today.
Sheikh Mohammed also served as Crown Prince of Dubai from January 1995 until January 2006.
On January 4, 2006, he became the ruler of Dubai.
A day later, he was named Vice President of the UAE and took up the reins as Prime Minister on February 11, 2006.
Sheikh Mohammed still proudly holds both positions nearly 13 years later.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed thanked the Vice President for his continued contributions to the UAE on Twitter.
He heralded Sheikh Mohammed as an "inspiring leader" who has "dedicated himself" to the development of the nation.

Sheikh Mohammed reciprocated and thanked the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi for his praise, also taking to Twitter to welcome his "good feelings".
