Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi held talks with Gianni Infantino as UAE played host to Club World Cup final in the capital
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed discussed plans to strengthen the UAE's role in world football during high-level talks with the Fifa President.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces welcomed Gianni Infantino, who has headed up football's global governing body since 2016, to the capital as the UAE played host to the showpiece Club World Cup tournament for the second consecutive year.
The sporting spectacle has again proved a huge success, with home heroes Al Ain overcoming the odds to contest the final against reigning champions Real Madrid on Saturday.
At the meeting, held at Al Shati Palace, Sheikh Mohamed underlined the UAE's desire to encourage cultural integration through the power of sport and to forge closer links with Fifa.
Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the importance of holding the international tournament for the UAE and hailed the sporting displays on show by teams spanning all corners of the planet.
The Fifa President praised the success of the competition in the UAE.
