Sheikh Khalifa leaves UAE on private visit

ABU DHBAI // The President, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, left the country Saturday on a private visit, WAM the state news agency reported.

Earlier,  Sheikh Khalifa sent a number of congratulatory cables to world leaders and diplomats to mark their independence day.

The President congratulated David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, on the occasion of Canada Day.

Similar greetings were sent to Mr Johnston by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The President also sent congratulatory cables to President Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmajo, President of Somalia and .Pierre Nkurunziza, President of Burundi on the occasion of their country's Independence Days.
