Sheikh Hamdan attends Special Olympics in Abu Dhabi —  in pictures

The Crown Prince of Dubai watched a few games to support the athletes

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed attended the second day of the Special Olympics IX Mena Games on Monday.

The Crown Prince of Dubai watched some of the games including basketball, table tennis and volleyball, as well as attending with a number of other sporting events at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

More than 1,000 athletes from 32 countries have travelled to Abu Dhabi to take part in the Games, which is the first major sporting event ahead of Special Olympics World Games that will be held in the capital next year.

The Games are being held at eight venues in Abu Dhabi from March 14 to 23. Entry across all the sites is open to the public.

Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied by Shamma Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, and a number of senior officials.
