Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has announced the launch of a campaign to provide 10 million meals to those in need.

Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, wife of the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, will lead the country's biggest community campaign by providing meals or food parcels to support people and families during Ramadan.

“The ’10 million meals’ campaign complements the rest of the country’s humanitarian campaigns to ensure no one sleeps hungry or in need in the UAE,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“Providing food for everyone, especially with the approaching holy month of Ramadan, is our priority during our battle against the pandemic.”

The campaign will help unemployed people or those who have had salary cuts because of the coronavirus outbreak.

“Feeding the hungry throughout the holy month of Ramadan allows us to practise compassion and kindness in this blessed month to overcome exceptional times united in peace,” said Sheikha Hind.
