Dubai's royal family enjoyed a royal appointment with the king of Liverpool as football superstar Mohamed Salah scored a fresh accolade in the UAE.
The Egyptian forward, who has also been crowned African Player of the Year this week for his stunning displays for his country and Premier League leaders Liverpool, met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Dubai, to receive the Outstanding Arab Athlete award at the 10th annual Mohammed Bin Rashid Creative Sports Award.
The Liverpool striker headed the list of winners granted a meeting with Sheikh Mohammed at Zabeel Palace on Wednesday.
The awards ceremony was held earlier at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Other winners included Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who was named Local Sports Personality and Turki Al Sheikh of Saudi Arabia, who scooped the Arabs Sports Personality prize.

The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai congratulated the award winners and called on them to inspire the next generation of Arabian sports stars.

Salah, who fired Liverpool to the Champions League final last year, is no stranger to the delights of Dubai.
He visited the emirate last July and November and has now made it a welcome hat-trick in a matter of months.
