A video showing side-by-side footage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed flying helicopters over Dubai was shared on Wednesday.

It is unclear when the footage of the Vice President and Ruler of Dubai was shot but it appears to have been filmed decades ago.

The video highlighted the similarities between the two members of the emirate's ruling family but also showed the dramatic transformation Dubai has undergone in the last few decades.

Earlier in the week, Sheikh Hamdan, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared the video of himself flying a helicopter above the emirate on Instagram.

Tall towers pierced the huddled clouds beneath as he flew past Burj Al Arab and around Downtown Dubai.

The scenes below Sheikh Mohammed are drastically different, showing few roads snaking through the desert land.

He is seen flying over what appears to be a rudimentary housing complex before landing in a patch of sand amongst ghaf trees.
