Indian PM tours Abu Dhabi’s Masdar City
Indian prime minister Narendra Modi visited Masdar City on Monday as part of a two-day visit to the UAE.
Mr Modi, who toured Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque the previous day, visited the Masdar Institute campus in a Personal Rapid Transit Pod, the state news agency Wam reported.
The Indian PM was accompanied by Dr Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
During the tour, Mr Modi met Masdar chief Dr Ahmad Belhoul, and Nawal Al Hosany, Director of Sustainability at Masdar and Manager of the Zayed Future Energy Prize.
The PM signed the electronic guest book on offer and visited Masdar’s modern wind tower, which cools the main yard of Masdar Institute by cooling tunnelled wind with water sprays.
At the end of the visit, Mr Modi headed an investor meeting attended by Dr Gargash, Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansouri, and members of the local and Indian business community.
