More than 400 homes will be built for Emirati families living in the Al Dhafra Region to provide them with decent living standards.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region, has instructed the building of the housing units under the directives of the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed.
The project also includes survey planning of industrial and investment plots in Silaa, near the Saudi border, and Ghayathi, south of Ruwais.
Sheikh Hamdan inspected a number of current and future development projects being implemented in Silaa.
He also visited Al Ghuwaifat border crossing and was briefed by the Abu Dhabi Police.
Sheikh Hamdan attended the Silaa Majlis and met a number of residents to discuss living conditions and local services.

He also conveyed the regards of President Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Emirati housing is a high priority for the UAE. Last month, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved a Dh7.2 billion housing plan for 7,270 homes to be delivered by 2021.
In November 2017 the largest single new community in Abu Dhabi to date was announced. Housing 200,000 people, Riyadh City will be located between southern Shamkha and North Al Wathba and comprise 45 per cent of the capital's residential land.
