Federal employees granted flexible hours to attend their children's school activities
Employees will be able to take up to three hours out of their day to attend parent-teacher meetings, school activities or graduation ceremonies
Federal government employees will be granted flexible working hours to attend parent-teacher meetings or school activities, it has been announced.
Employees will be able to take up to three hours out of their day to be part of their children’s activities, which includes graduation ceremonies.
The UAE cabinet adopted the plan as part of the back to school policy launched under the National Programme for Happiness and Quality of Life.
"The UAE government is keen to promote and consolidate social and family ties in the community," said Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness and Well-being.
"This involves allowing parents to be a part of their children’s school activities in order to achieve our bigger goal of preserving a cohesive society."
More than 94,000 students and 28,000 federal government employees are expected to benefit as a result of the plan, which is designed to help parents balance their work and home life and increase their productivity.
