A new electronic ID card for Emiratis and residents families will be used in government transactions from July 1, the UAE Cabinet has announced.
The Electronic Family Book will be a card containing a smart chip with “all the information of citizens and residents”, state news agency Wam reported.

It is expected to reduce customer service processing time at agencies by 80 per cent.
A series of workshops on the card will be held in the coming months.
