The Department of Economic Development has confiscated 416 devices that illegally broadcast copyrighted media content.
Shops in the emirate that were selling encrypted receivers were raided and the devices seized, Wam reported over the weekend.
The campaign was initiated by the department to prevent the circulation of these devices in accordance with the laws of the UAE.
The DED reiterated the importance of following laws that prevent the circulation of illegal devices and stressed that providing broadcast services legally helps protects the community from commercial fraud.
