The feat was achieved during a graduation ceremony for its 26th batch of cadet officers at the weekend.
Video posted to Twitter shows dozens of unmaned aerial vehicles, or drones, being prepared, formation lines being painted on the ground and then the drones buzzing into the air.
In total, eleven separate formations were achieved by Dubai Police and the attempt was ratified by Guinness World Records.
One of the formations portrayed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.
The feat was accomplished at the Dubai Police Academy, with the Burj Al Arab hotel in the background.
